Studies show that over 7 million people will struggle with at least one episode of depression in a given year… and yet you here because your symptoms make you feel sad, angry, lost, disconnected, worthless and yes alone. It’s crazy that on the one hand depression can feel like an unreal, and invisible thing that you can and should shake off and at the same time impossibly heavy, covering every area of your life from your self-esteem, causing you to feel like an imposter in your life. To your boundaries in relationships and at work, making you feel afraid to set limits, say no or ask for what you need and deserve, essentially accepting the unacceptable.
Depression Treatment
Due to the fact that there can be many causes for depression, such as environment and past/present trauma among other things, we take an eclectic approach to its treatment. Treatment strategies include CBT, attachment therapy, narrative therapy, compassion focused therapy, implementation of boundaries and so on. In my treatment of depression, my goals are to create a safe, non-judgmental space, approach you as a whole person and to collaborate with and walk beside you as you do the work to find relief.
